Cooking in Cambridge

Chicken alfredo time.
Chicken alfredo time.

Hello friends, it’s been a while. In my extended absence from the blogosphere, I’ve taken a flight to England, hiked the Scottish highlands, witnessed stage 3 of Le Tour de France, bonded over World Cup games and pints of Guinness, and am currently staying in one of the most beautiful cities I’ve seen. AKA I’m studying abroad for the summer at Cambridge University. Between classes, traveling, and experiencing British life in general, The Briarwood Baker is going to be fairly inactive until I make my way back across the pond just in time for the fall semester. Although I’ll be taking a break from food blogging, there’s a full kitchen in the building I’m staying in Cambridge which means I can still cook and bake (thank goodness!)

As you all know, cooking for others and sharing my love for food is my joie de vivre, which is why it’s fabulous that my friends here are 100% on board for home cooked meals in the dorm. Food and friends, that’s all you need. Luckily my good friend, Orko Manna, who is a fantastic photographer, was able to take pictures of the food made before it was devoured. All of the pictures in this post are by him, so here’s a shout out to Orko for being awesome and documenting our time here at Cambridge and beyond.

In the meantime, enjoy the summer, and I’ll see you in the fall once I’m back in the good ‘ol U S of A. Cheers!
