Hi, I’m Katie! I’m a law student at the University of Connecticut School of Law. I live in northwest Connecticut in a little town which no one has ever heard of, have an affinity for corgis and hedgehogs, and thrive on tea, adventuring (usually resulting in getting lost), and somehow working brown butter into every recipe I make.

The blog

It all started when I was five years old when I helped my dad make his “world famous” biscotti. Years later, along with hundreds of cakes, pies, cookies, and various other desserts, my passion for baking is still strong. This blog is a place where I can share recipes, by others and myself, with the world. Sharing my love for food is my joie de vivre, and I hope The Briarwood Baker inspires you to bake and most importantly, eat!

Cheers, x o

Always cooking from a young age.
Always baking since I was a youngin’.
